DESCRIPTION
Kaloteh or Kaliteh (Kali ) date is one of the wet or Semi-Dry dates in Iran and has a relatively moderate juice. It has a soft texture and is easily chewed in the mouth. In general, the moisture content of this date varies between 14 to 22 %, which depends on the climatic conditions of the place of cultivation and harvest time and the quality of total dates.
Kaloteh or Kaliteh dates are very similar to Mazafati dates and their appearance is different in color! Kaloteh dates are lighter in color than Mazafati dates. It is almost large in size and its soft texture and flesh is dark brown. The length of this date varies between about 2.5 to 3.5 cm and also varies according to the place of harvest. Kaloteh date is cultivated in many regions of Iran, but these dates are mainly considered to be the product of Jiroft region of Kerman province. In fact, Jiroft Kerman dates are the best example of Kaloteh in Iran. In fact, from early September to late September is the time to harvest or ripen time of these dates. Due to the semi-dry of kaloteh date, it is recommended that these dates be stored at cool temperatures after harvest. The best temperature for storing dates is generally below 5 ° C (0 – 5 ). It is better to keep these dates in sterilized and completely hygienic environments. And after washing and drying, it should be packed so that this environment should not be a humid environment.
